"Speaking of Games...The Way Home"

Lostpedia has posted an interesting short article on the new LOST game being released. It looks very promising, and we are supposed get to have access to lots of peripheral island details that are alluded to but not addressed in the show, such as DHARMA locations, island terrain, etc. I am really interested in the conceptual art that Lostpedia has included in the article. I love concept art, especially for movies (I still have my Ralph McQuarrie packaged set of original Star Wars pre-production concept art!), and the art for this game is very well done. I had no idea that concept art was done for computer games, but I guess it makes sense. Here are some of the art shots posted by Lostpedia:

This location is intriguing, a Swan Station store-room perhaps?

The obligatory spooky Black Rock shot, natch!

A tranquil beach camp scene.

Is anyone in the Lost Community going to purchase the game? In what format? I don't think that I have ever purchased a computer game in my life. Maybe it's time to start.

I'm no gamer, my record in Wii bowling notwithstanding, so I'll probably wait and see what interesting things come out of the game before committing to it. I'd have to get the PC version, and my PC is old, so I'm not sure my graphics card could handle it. DarkUFO has created a tab dedicated to the game, so I hope all useful info. will gravitate there. I'm sure Lostpedia will have it's usual excellent summary as well.

As for those pics, I think that storeroom is some version of an Arrow hatch. There was some mention that there is more than one Arrow and that they were used for storage. I think that comes from the Blast Door map or the jigsaw puzzles. I'd also guess that it's near the Barracks given the bicycles on the wall. Almost every shot we've gotten of Othersville, be it pre or post Purge includes people riding bicycles on the sidewalks.

Interesting about it being the Arrow station! That makes sense. Could even be some garage in Otherville, I suppose. Especially given that it has a window, but the Swan station had a sort of fakey window by the breakfast nook, so it could still be a station's storage too.

Yeah, I don't think that my computer will even support it either. I'll have to wait till the nephews get it and bring over their play stations during their summer break. :-(

I'm fighting the urge to buy it. If they had it for Wii, I'd probably already have it on order. I could pretend it was for my kids, maybe. . .

I'll probably break down and buy it for pc, then I'll have to let my ten year old beat it for me.

Cap, I love PC games. I have been playing on my computer since they added graphics (those DOS based games were too much for me to grasp!) Although Zork was fun...

I prefer PC games to playstation etc, mainly because if there's a bug in the game you can download a patch, but not so with console games. You just live with the bug.

Looking forward to the LOST game!

I'm definitely going to buy this game. We just got a PS3 (with Blue Ray!) We have it set up on our 73" HD TV! I understand you can play with gamers everywhere via the internet and actually talk to them as you play! It's going to be awesome!

Interesting info, friends! Especially the particular benefits of buying PC over playstation.

Wow, Maven! :-)
