I wouldn't want TPTB to think that we don't appreciate the juicy bone that they threw us with the Orchid vid at ComicCon. What they gave us was totally unexpected and we are collectively very grateful and excited about the new station and weird science possibilities. Everyone's blogs were buzzing about the new film, like a bunch of starving Dharma-ites opening their long awaited supply package after it hit the island drop zone. The high from that little piece of Dharma film satiated me very well for a while.
Until today, I'm so sorry. I seem to be having a mid-hiatus crisis all of a sudden. I'm tired of guessing and I'm tired of theories. Reruns are holding me over a little bit, and I am totally enjoying reading everyone's blogs and ideas. The Lost Community Bookclub has also been an excellent diversion, giving us some alternate-but-related LOST info to keep our minds occupied and razor sharp for catching clues next season. But I'm hungry again, and I need another bone to chew on man. The mobisode thing is supposed to happen I guess, but I don't have a mobile phone right now so I don't know if I will be able to access them. Hopefully they will eventually go up on ABC or Youtube, or our buddy Dennis at TLC will hook us up somehow as usual.
This is not good. It is only September, and we have until February. I realize that it's only a TV show, but it feels like we've been reading this huge fantastically interesting mystery book and just when we get to another good part, someone takes the book away and won't let us read it. So far I've only allowed myself to look at spoilers about the new actors in Season 4, and not even about the characters they will be playing. But I am starting to feel like Cadet Stimpy after Cap'n Ren gave him the mission to guard (and not to touch!!) the History Erasure Button!
"Can Cadet Stimpy withstand the pressure?! Will he hold out?! Can he hold out?!"
"NO I CAN'T!!!!!!!!!!!"
Oh well, at least I can watch "Mad Men" on Thursdays, it's getting pretty weird with Draper's bizarre past and present, and the character profiles are beginning to seem as complicated as the ones on LOST. Maybe I'll even work my way through the fan fiction on DarkUFO to keep busy, that will help. Thanks to everyone who has blogged like crazy and encouraged us all to keep the faith till February! I can keep reading everyone's awesome posts, maybe go talk to Dave, or play some Connect Four with Lenny. 4,8,15,16......anyone else besides me hurting yet? :-}

Capcom, I feel your pain. I'm loving Mad Men right now. The style choices are fantastic. The mystery of Don; meh, I don't care because he is some great eye candy.
I'm also watching Damages, Top Chef and Burn Notice and soon, well by the end of the month we'll have some new broadcast fare. I'm looking forward to Chuck, Heroes, maybe Bionic Woman (I was such a fan of the Lindsey Waggoner version as a kid, I don't know if I'll like the new one), Pushing Daisies, NBC's Thursday Night Line Up.
Soon there will be lots if not LOST to talk about. Hang in there.
Yes, Don is neat, what a boss he would make. It would be nice to have bosses that dressed decently, and didn't wear frumpy wrinkled Dockers and baggy shirts ALL the time. :-) I love how well they have done the sets and props, etc. on Mad Men, great details. That beatnik joint was cool too.
Burn notice is alright also, I have liked that actor since he played the Pretender's brother briefly.
Yep, I liked Lindsey! Not such a great actress back then, but she tried and still had more "gravitas" than Farrah tho IMHO.
More gravitas than Farrah. Like that was hard Capcom. :D
There's an interview with Mad Men's Creator from Fresh Air that I found fascinating. He talked about how the fashions are actually late 50s because real people wouldn't be wearing what's in the fashion magazines of 1960. He also talks about including the ceiling in the office shots and why he does that. You might enjoy it Capcom.
Capcom, I feel as though it's already been forever, and am avoiding spoilers at all costs. Last season for the first ep I peeked at a spoiler - totally ruined it for me.
As for Lindsey, I really liked her in BW, Mad Men is great - a good filler. Need to tune into Burn Notice - haven't yet.
Stay Lost!!
Oh thanks for the interview Memphish! I'll go read it now, but that is very true about the styles. Whatever consumer items were released took a few years to get fully assimilated into the consumers' lifes, homes, work, etc. And things were built to last back then, at older IBM plants you can still find old Herman Miller office chairs from the 60's in conference rooms, that still look great. All the new office furniture that we buy breaks immediately.
Thanks for the encouragement Memphish and PGT! :-)
Capcom-
This was such a well written little laugh! Don't give up the fight! I have crisis of motivation too...only mine are more "What am I doing with all of these hours I've spent watching, rewatching, reading blogs??? Shouldn't I be doing x, y, z?" I'm afraid that sooner or later x, y, and z will win (and rightfully maybe they should as they're certainly more productive!). But I'd miss my little delving into something completely unrelated to "real" life!
Will await your next installment.... here's to inspiration!
Another NPR interview about Mad Men.
Thanks Lisa! How's work so far, did it start up yet? I know, the hours spent....maybe the long hiatus is God's way of telling us to get back to real life, heheh. :o) But I sure enjoy reading everyone's blogs and such, it's been such a great opportunity to meet to friends since TLEC, especially since I'm new to Knoxville and haven't made any new friends outside of family links yet.
Thanks Memphish, can't wait to listen to/read that one too! I noticed yesterday while watching the MadMen marathon, that this life/world was as tough on men as it was for women. In that competitive environment, men seemed to be emasculated on an hourly basis! Thus, the rifle episode, I imagine. :-(
uhh so true. I am encouraged that I recently have thought heavily on all things LOST and really want some new info as well.
I'm so excited for the Video game...but that won't be coming until close to the beginning of Season 4...
the Season 3 DVDs aren't for awhile. :(
That is why I got the idea back in June or July to start a new blog involving as many LOST bloggers as possible...but I didn't get as many as hoped for.
We all need something new, NEW NEW!!!
CF
What were you trying to do CF????
Anyway, I think that a lot of people are taking a break from the LOST blogs while they can during the summer. There isn't much activity on most of them, so far in this hiatus.
Trying to start a blog that the LOST bloggers run, but we wouldn't stop running our own. It would just be a sort of "sister site" to all of our blogs....
but it started to seem really ridiculous as the summer started and I haven't done any SERIOUS blogging all summer.
I am still thinking of doing something new...donno yet. If you have any ideas hit me up. I'm all ears. =]
New Blog is Still a go. =]
It might be easier to start that blog when the season starts back up, and we'll have soooooo much more to talk about!
Your right. If you would like to be involved I will send you the link to the new site and it will show the name and such. I need all the help preparing it I can get. :]
my email address is freexzfrozen_icebox@yahoo.com :]
Well I've got two going right now and could maybe join in if I know more about it before committing. :-)
alrighty..
well this is the link....
