"Deja Vu All Over The Place - S6.13"

Emilie de Raven should get an Emmy for having the cutest little devil-faced pout on TV. And other than that, I've got very few thoughts or words for this episode and Season 6 in general. Perhaps we're not supposed to, I've seen that other people are somewhat dulled in the senses like I am this time around with Lost so close to the end - flying across these spiraling, bumping, helixed universes, reliving skewed flashbacks when we were starving for some new developments. So I'm not alone I see but I'm not, um, happy for suddenly feeling bereft of any reaction to my favorite current TV series. After writing over 200 excited posts in a few years about this show, you'd think that I could come up with something better than lame jokes now, but it isn't so. Oh well. So here are a couple of the things that I thought were sure to happen, but didn't, in The Last Recruit.

************

The End. I'm scared, pinch me when I should wake up.

I feel your pain. I'm just trying to savor each moment (and every fan event). I think I'm just burned out with trying to make sense of this story. I have all my trust in Darlton to lead us to a satisfactory ending.

Me too, I think, I hope.

I've been trying to figure out why I've got such a sort of "dead calm" feeling for this season, but since all we've seen so far is a bunch of zombies chasing Flocke back and forth over the island, and the quirky deja vu moments in the FS, I guess that there haven't really been many developments or surprised yet to react to.

I do like Hurley's personal developments and revelations on the island. But now I don't know what to believe from him after he lied to Richard like that.

Alien! Question is, how are you?! Hope that you are better from your accident and all. Think of you often. Hope that you are enjoying our last season of Lost.

Thanks for stopping by.

Cool. Looking forward to reading your thoughts. Loved your post on the Lazarus twins - Star Trek overlap. Seems even more applicable now. Never watched a show that's so dense in its influences, and makes you feel a bit dense aswell. Surprised you didn't feel inspired to post about Across the Sean. Ah well, take care, I just hope you are well.

Thanks Goose! Yes, the cross references abound in this story.

Well, I haven't been feeling too well actually, or inspired lately, but I plan to post after the Finale for sure.

I was worried you might not be well. Take care of yourself mate. Remember a few years ago when it looked like that obscure comic Tales of Mystery 40, that was made available on a Spanish website, looked like it had all the answers! LOL. It has been a fun ride. I have to wait until Wednesday to watch the finale, (I hope the half read media reports about purgatory are wrong LOL!). Anyway its been a hell of a ride. Sadly whatever ending they give will not be as good as the one we have in our heads. Take my friend, and I hope your health is okay. You have been missed.

Aw, thanks Goose! It's mostly some chronic pain stuff that takes the fun out of life sometimes. Kind of like how FS Charlie said that nothing matters. But you try to press on and do what you can, there's always someone who has it worse. :-)

Are you "across the pond" as they say? I hope that you enjoy the finale. Don't take the purgatory talk too seriously, it's not what we thought in the beginning and that's all I'll say. I have mixed feelings, but hope that they work themselves out after time. I'll try to get a post up with my feelings soon, and also one about what Lost meant to me as far as making great new friends all over the world!

Thanks for stopping by!

I loved the finale. As I am in Australia I read a few recaps before it was shown here. When I first read about the purgatory material I groaned out loud! Strangely, for me atleast, when I watched the episode they made a schmaltzy concept work beautifully, almost flawlessly. I never cry, but the final image had me blubbering! (I love Vincent). It was cathartic. Yes I have some issues with the series as a whole. The Numbers were a core mystery that deserved more discussion (not necessarily explanation) and should have been included in the Across the Sea episode, but over all I'm happy and I don't have too many outstanding questions. I guess I would have preferred a bit more of a hard science explanation of the source to go along with the mystical (e.g Faraday's interpretation of the source from a quantum physics point of view), not to replace the theological themse but to move in tandem with them. Look forward to your thoughts when you are well enough. My Mum has similar chronic pain issues, its a day by day thing. Very tough. Once again take care. Relieved you are okay.

I agree completely with you about being more satisfied with equal parts of science and faith, since Faraday was included in the FS. I expected to see him do something more (than play piano) before all was said and done. And I would have probably been much more satisfied with the emotional theme if we had gotten some tasty tidbits about what the island was, such as all the hints that The Little prince led us to believe. But then...nuttin. Oh well.

Sorry to hear about your Mum, I'll keep her in my prayers.
